What is a Responsible Officer?
Under the Medical Profession (Responsible Officers) Regulations 2010, every designated body must appoint a Responsible Officer. The Responsible Officer provides a prescribed connection for the organisation's doctors, oversees appraisal and revalidation, manages fitness to practise concerns, and makes revalidation recommendations to the GMC.
